Photo Gallery: Coney Island

Coney Island is a collection of many independent attractions. Most popular are the attractions at Deno's Wonder Wheel, Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, and of course, the Coney Island Cyclone. The Mets' minor league team play a couple blocks away, and take their name from the ride. Playland used to be next to Deno's, but has since closed down. One building and a parachute drop ride sit empty at the site. Unless you're traveling with children, a visit to Coney Island can be completed in an hour or two - ride the Cyclone and Wonder Wheel, grab a Nathan's, and perhaps visit the museum (something I plan on doing next trip). The Top Spin ride is supposed to run a great program, but was closed on my visit. You can also spend time at the beach. Plan it right, and see the Brooklyn Cyclones play in the evening.
