Photo Gallery: Remnants of the Embarcadero Freeway

The Embarcadero Freeway was deemed unsafe after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and was eventually torn down. Shown below are some of the few signs remaining that a freeway once ran through here.

This set of pictures shows the area near the Transbay Terminal with dead-end ramps and random lines of parking where the Embarcadero Freeway connected to I-80 and the Bay Bridge. The large building in the fourth picture was built recently. Most of this area will probably change as the new terminal gets built and the construction on and near the Bay Bridge is completed.
