Photo Gallery: Holly Springs

The original town of Holly Springs never really grew, as it was very close to Woodstock and Canton and served more as a midpoint between the two towns. As such, its downtown is very minimal. The first four pictures below show the Depot, and the rest show some of the remaining buildings. The last picture shows an area just off main street that was recently (circa 2000) rehabilitated. This area was most likely full of shops, but the recent paving finished off any trace there might have been of older structures. (Honestly, before 2000, that area was mainly a small auto parts junkyard, and it sits right next to a recently-built fire station. Most original shops and homes in the area were most likely destroyed decades ago. Note the fourth picture, a marker placed at the depot. This marker identifies the birthplace of Julian M Hughes. A house most likely stood on this spot next to the depot.)
